A global leader in luxury hospitality, approached Aqua Moving Services to manage the complex relocation of one of their VIP assignees, a Vice President, moving from Singapore to Miami, USA, with an additional shipment to Germany. Given the high profile and unique needs of the assignee, the project required meticulous planning, coordination, and execution to ensure a seamless transition.
The Solution
The relocation involved two large shipments using 40ft containers. The contents included high-end personal items, a valuable wine collection, antiques, and a grand piano. The project required a door-to-door removal service, air-conditioned storage at the origin, comprehensive customs documentation, temporary accommodation in Miami, permanent home search support, and school search assistance for the client’s children.
1. Door-to-Door Removal Services:
Packing and Transport: Our team managed the careful packing of all items, ensuring the safe transport of valuable and delicate possessions, including the grand piano and antiques. Specialised materials and techniques were employed to protect these items during the long journey.
Shipment: We coordinated two separate shipments: one to Miami, USA, and another to Germany. Both shipments were conducted in 40ft containers, reflecting the scale and complexity of the move.
2. Air-Conditioned Storage Facility:
Storage at Origin: To accommodate the client’s timeline and ensure the safe storage of temperature-sensitive items, such as the wine collection, we provided an air- conditioned storage facility in Singapore. This facility was used while customs documentation was finalised and logistics for the shipments were arranged.
3. Customs Documentation Support:
Compliance and Documentation: Navigating international customs can be challenging, especially with high-value items. Our team handled all necessary customs documentation, ensuring full compliance with both Singaporean and US regulations, as well as German customs for the second shipment.
4. Temporary Accommodation in Miami:
Housing Arrangements: Upon arrival in Miami, we arranged temporary luxury accommodation for
the assignee and their family. The accommodation provided a comfortable and secure environment while we assisted in finding a permanent residence.
5. Home Search Support:
Permanent Residence Search: Our home search specialists worked closely with the client to understand their preferences and requirements. We conducted a thorough search of the Miami area, presenting options that matched their needs for luxury, convenience, and proximity to work.
6. School Search Assistance:
Education Support: Understanding the importance of education for the client’s children, we provided detailed information on the best schools in the Miami area. This included arranging school visits and meetings with school administrators, ensuring a smooth transition for the children.
7. Special Handling of Wine Collection and Antiques:
Wine Collection: The client’s extensive wine collection required special handling due to its value and sensitivity to temperature changes. We ensured that the collection was stored and transported under optimal conditions, preserving its quality.
